Sightings 9/7/11

No news of yesterday's Lesser Yellowlegs.

BRISTOL:
St Anne's:  a Little Egret along the river Avon stretch, has been regular here over past week at least (H Porter).

GLOS:
9.7.11 young Buzzards about to take their first flight

SOUTH GLOS:
2 juvenile Sparrowhawk at this site

OLDBURY POWER STATION:
Site highlights were: 2 Little Egret, 2 Black-tailed Godwit (Shepperdine), c.275 Curlew, 2 adult Mediterranean Gull and 4 Green Woodpecker (per opsbirding).

SEVERNSIDE: per severnsidebirds:
New Passage: 3 Common Sandpiper and a Raven.

Severn Beach: 1 Common Tern downriver.


PORTBURY WHARF:
10 Common Sandpiper this morning, 9 at the pools, 1 on the estuary. In the evening, just 1 Common Sandpiper left on the pools but 120+ Redshank at Chapel Pill creek.

3 Green Woodpecker along wharf lane of note and the Little Owl still present at the barns (S Hale).

AXE ESTUARY:
This morning: 2 Curlew 52 Redshank, 2 Common Sandpiper, 3 Mediterranean Gull and 550 Black-headed Gull (P Bowyer).

BARROW TANKS:
16 Common Sandpiper this morning (S Davies).

CHEW VALLEY LAKE:
9.7.11 Little Egret and Black-tailed Godwit, Stratford hide this morning
