Sightings 14/7/11

BRISTOL:
Sea Mills: 4 Common Sandpiper this morning (J Williams).

SLIMBRIDGE WWT:
Allan out and about on the reserve today:

TOMARTON:
At least 1 Quail and 3 Corn Bunting in fields along the main road this evening (PJ Hazelwood).

SEVERNSIDE: per severnsidebirds

New Passage: 12 Oystercatcher, 6 Curlew, 13 Redshank, 2 Common Sandpiper, 11 Turnstone, an adult Mediterranean Gull and 200 BH Gull.

Morning high tide: 1 Ringed Plover, 7 Dunlin, 52 Curlew, 17 Redshank and a Turnstone (S Hale).

PORTBURY WHARF:
Particularly quiet here today for birds but the Rod Holbrook managed these shots taken around the reserve this morning:

CLEVEDON COAST:
Wain's Hill to Yeo Est: 18 Canada Goose, 25 Shelduck + 18 juvs of varying ages, the Wigeon, 30 Mallard, 6 Little Egret, 12 Oystercatcher, 1 Little Ringed Plover (Yeo), single Golden Plover (golf course), 32 Dunlin, a Godwit sp., 160 Curlew, 65 Redshank, a Green Sandpiper (Tutshill pool), 9 Common Sandpiper, 1 Turnstone, 200+ BH Gull, single Swift, 3 Swallow, 4 House Martin, 2 Raven and 75 Linnet (HE Rose).

BLAGDON LAKE: per BL birds
10 Lapwing and 2 Common Sandpiper.

BATH:
Claverton: 2 Peregrine showing well 4pm at the Quarry Rock gardens area (D French)
