Sightings 10/7/11

BRISTOL:
Kingswood:

LOWER WOODS (south Glos):
2 Spotted Flycatcher and 3 juveniles showing well today (V Savery).

YATE:
Kingsgate Park: a Common Sandpiper on the pool 9am (per D Pearce).

OLDBURY POWER STATION:
4 Common Sandpiper on the shoreline today (per opsbirding).

PILNING:
10.7.11 the resident Little Owl

SEVERNSIDE: per severnsidebirds
New Passage: 2 Oystercatcher, 3 (red) Black-tailed Godwit, 6 Curlew, 4 Redshank, 150 BH Gull, 2 Raven and a Yellow Wagtail.

Severn Beach: 8 Ringed Plover and 2 Dunlin.


PORTBURY DOCK:
A Buzzard, 2 Grey Heron, 5 Oystercatcher, 2 adult Ringed Plover + 2 chicks out on the mud, 5 Dunlin, a Black-tailed Godwit in summer plumage, 50 Curlew and a Turnstone (combined reports,S Hale, CJ Stone).

PORTBURY WHARF:
Today's wader-fest: the Bar-tailed Godwit (4th week of stay), 4 Common Sandpiper and 70 Redshank (combined reports, S Hale, CJ Stone, J Williams).

EASTON-IN-GORDANO:
The Quail still calling in the barley field at Common Lane this evening (per CJ Stone).

CHEW VALLEY LAKE:
5 Little Egret, single Oystercatcher, 3 Little Ringed Plover, 8 Black-tailed Godwit, 4 Whimbrel, single Curlew, 3 Greenshank, 4 Redshank, 1 Green Sandpiper and 4 Common Sandpiper.

The Egyptian Goose has retired to Picnic site No.1 (S Davies).
