Sightings 2/7/11

Some influx of passage waders, especially Green and Common Sandpiper.

OLDBURY POWER STATION: per opsbirding:
Little in the way of passage waders, highlights were: 300 BH Gull, 16 Sand Martin upriver, 2 juvenile Redstart (hide and lagoon 1), a juvenile Goldcrest and 2 Sedge Warbler.


ALMONDSBURY:
Lower Knole Farm: 2 Siskin in trees this morning (M Dadds).


BRISTOL:

A few shots of the gorge Peregrines sent in by Andy. The 'boys' are doing fine and have not left the building yet.

PORTBURY WHARF:
2.7.11 Chiffchaff this morning
regular perch by the wharf lane barns
Estuary: 2 Teal and 85 Redshank of note at chapel pill am, later 2 Common Sandpiper in the evening.

Pools: the Little Egret and Kingfisher present at main pool again (S Hale).

CLEVEDON COAST:
Wain's Hill to Yeo Est:  18 Canada Goose, 70 Shelduck + 21 young, 7 Little Egret, 9 Oystercatcher, single Ringed Plover, 8 Lapwing, 16 Dunlin, a Black-tailed Godwit (over Yeo Est), a Whimbrel, 250 Curlew, 12 Common Sandpiper, 1 Green Sandpiper, 46 Redshank, a Turnstone, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Raven, 15 Pied Wagtail, 7 Whitethroat and 60 Linnet (S Sanin).

CHEW VALLEY LAKE:
Stratford: the Wood Sandpiper in front of the hide early am, it was at Hollow Brook last night. At least 6 Common Sandpiper at the lake also (S Davies).

BARROW TANKS:
7 Common Sandpiper (S Davies).
