PORTBURY WHARF:
5.6.11 Goldcrest 1 of 4 birds near the 1st hide |
Wharf Lane: 2 Cetti's Warbler, single Lesser Whitethroat and 4 Goldcrest.
Pools: usual stuff, 30 Canada Goose this morning plus 2 Swift and a Sand Martin brought down by the rain (S Hale).
CLEVEDON COAST: quieter here today:
55 Mallard, 1 Grey Heron, 5 Oystercatcher, 8 Ringed Plover, 1 Lapwing, 1 Dunlin, 2 Whimbrel, c.10 Curlew, 52 BH Gull, 6 LBB Gull and 25 Linnet (HE Rose).

CHEW VALLEY LAKE:
1 Greylag Goose, 10 Teal, 2 Garganey, 8 Shoveler, 1 Hobby, 1 Little Ringed Plover and a Common Sandpiper (S Davies).

A Bonaparte's Gull found on the beach mid-morning (J Packer). Yet to be recorded in Avon, so hopefully, it will wend its way northwards.
FOREST of DEAN:
Cannop ponds: 10 Mandarin Duck, 2 Cuckoo, 1 Tree Pipit and a family party of 4 Raven.
Speech House: a singing Redstart.
Boy's Grave: 2 roding Woodcock and 2 Nightjar coming to a white table-cloth.
A white Fallow Deer, Badger and Boar also noted (P Baber, P Buckle).
